Investing with Diametric

We currently only accept US investors. Under federal law, you must be a qualified investor to invest in a hedge fund, which is currently defined by meeting either an income or a net-worth threshold.  The current income threshold is an earned income exceeding $200,000 (or $300,000 when combined with a spouse) during each of the previous two full calendar years, and a reasonable expectation of the same for the current year. Alternatively, you are also considered a qualified investor, whether or not you meet the income thresholds, if you have a net worth greater than $1 million (either by yourself or combined with a spouse) excluding your primary residence.

Diametric Partners, LP is currently listed as an approved alternative investment with leading brokerage firms, including Merrill, TD Ameritrade, Schwab, Interactive Brokers, and more. If you are a client of one of these firms, you can invest in our fund directly through them. Alternatively, there are other investment custodian services you could use.

Adding and Withdrawing Funds

The addition and withdrawal of funds requires the submission of request forms to both your fund custodian and to Diametric’s fund administrator.  Different custodians use different forms, and you should complete that process through them.  Diametric’s addition and withdrawal forms are available at the links below. In general, if you include Diametric’s forms together with the form that you submit to your fund custodian, they will pass Diametric’s form onto our fund management company on your behalf.  If they will not do this, you may email Diametric’s form directly to our current fund administrator at investor.support@formidium.com.

Diametric’s Withdrawal Request Form instructs our fund administrator to wire funds to your fund custodian on the withdrawal date, and your fund custodian will subsequently release the funds to you.  Our Additional Subscription Request Form tells our fund administrator to to expect funds to be wired to Diametric from your fund custodian.  Additions become active in the fund at the start of the first trading day of the month, provided funds have been wired to us from your custodian by that date, while withdrawals from the fund are processed on the last day of the month.  Diametric’s subscription agreement contains a clause specifying a 60-day lead-time for withdrawals.  The rule provides that the case of larger withdrawals, we can avoid having to hurriedly liquidate positions, which could adversely affect the fund as a whole.  However, in the case of modestly sized withdrawals, we commonly waive this requirement upon request.  Ideally, however, withdrawal requests will have a lead time of at least three weeks.
